Aiding People: Non-State Armed Group Service Delivery and International Aid
Project Summary
This project engaged mixed methods – quantitative coding and analyses, archival research, interviews, and focus groups – to produce a typology of how non-state armed service delivery patterns evolved during the COVID-19 pandemic, including via interactions with international aid actors. The findings shed light on the relationships and service provision of non-state armed groups, creating a critical tool for both the academic study of non-state governance and political violence and for policymakers and practitioners involved with stabilization and peacebuilding efforts.
