Peace Operation Data, Analytics, and Action
Project Summary
Although both the UN and academics want to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of peace operations, the reality is that these two communities have had relatively little interaction. Meanwhile, the UN’s capacities to use, manage, and analyze its data effectively are still developing. This project set out to increase the capacity of UN peace operation staff to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of ongoing UN peace operations via a series of workshops between top peacekeeping scholars and UN Department of Peace Operations (DPO) staff on data gathering, sharing, and analysis.
